The Newness of Life

“Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence with God.  And whatever we ask we receive from Him … “(1 John 3:21, 22).

You cannot operate in faith if there is a feeling of guilt, a sense of unworthiness, and self condemnation.  Faith works in the atmosphere of confidence and boldness in the presence of God.  And knowing that the love of God is in our hearts, whatever we ask of Him, He gives it to us.  By continuous exposure with the message of sin consciousness or wrong doings, believers are pushed into the atmosphere of unworthiness; and therefore, faith is paralyzed and shrinks away from His presence.

Faith comes to our hearts through immersion of our spirit in the word of faith – the Gospel of Christ.  If a believer can only realizes what Christ has done on the cross and the power of His resurrection, that believer can do greater things than Jesus did while He was on earth.  This faith confession was spoken through the Master’s lips, “…he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do… (John 14:12).

Lack of confidence is a direct result of condemnation.  And when a child of God entertains condemnation or sense of unworthiness, he either diverts into legalism or developed into a faithless believer.  Legalism is a subtle and wicked way to appease a condemned heart.  Legalism is an effort to get hold of the peace of God.  Legalism is a guilt complex knocking on the door of the kingdom of Heaven in attempt to ease the condemned spirit.  Legalism is born out of fear and fear is the enemy of faith.

“Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him… For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace” (Romans 6:6-7, 14).

Every child of God needs to learn and understand the Book of Romans just like learning and mastering the basic A B C or the alphabet.  It takes miracles of divine intervention into the minds of believers for them to comprehend the message of the cross and the resurrection.   Millions and millions of believers thought they have the grasps of understanding regarding this message of the Gospel of Christ – that He has rise from the dead.  However, believers still live defeated and live comprising the world having been duped by the lie of the devil.

The believer’s old man or old self was crucified with Christ, was nailed together with Him on the cross.  It means the old man does not exist anymore – he is dead.  A dead man is free from all of his responsibilities and obligations to this world.  A dead man owes no one.  A dead man suffers no longer from sin, sickness, diseases and poverty because he is dead.  A dead man does not have sickness and diseases because his body is dead.  A dead man is free from sin, sickness and condemnation because he is dead.  A dead man is no longer under the jurisdiction of any laws, traditions and religious exercise because he is dead.  A dead man is no longer in poverty, never anymore to beg for money, for food, for anything to survive because he is a dead man.  It is a fact that you cannot do anything to a dead person because he is dead.

When Christ was nailed and died on the cross, we were with Him.  We were nailed and died with Him and He was nailed and died with us.   We, along with our sin, sickness, diseases, sorrow, pain, poverty, confusions, weakness and limitations were nailed on the cross and died with Him.  The devil and all demonic beings celebrated for three days in the presence of a dead Christ along with dead believers in Christ.  These demonic spirits thought they got Christ forever dead with them.  They thought that Jesus is just another Adam that had succumbed to death.  There for three days they thought they have the victory.  They thought it was a done deal – a dead Son of God and dead believers of Christ.

But praise the Lord, Jesus resurrected from the dead.   And when He was resurrected from the dead, we too resurrected from the dead with new life.  This life is not the old life.  It is the life of God.  It is the life that the devil and all demonic spirits have nothing to do with it.  This life is the divine life and nature of God.  Therefore, the kingdom of darkness has no legal right, no power, has no authority over the life of a believer.  We have dominion over the kingdom of darkness. Sin, sickness, diseases, lack, poverty, and the affects of sin have no right to the life of a believer.

“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4).

Every born again believer of Christ shall live in newness of life.  The life abundant, not living in poverty but in power and might.  Newness of life is the lifestyle of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, David, Solomon, Daniel, Jesus, Paul, Peter, John and the rest of the men and women of faith in the Bible.  They lived the life in super abundance of the grace of God.  You see, if you know what you are made of as a child of God, and you know what you have in your possession as a child of God, then there is no way to fear.

If you could only open the spirit of your mind that your life is hidden in Christ, that your life is the life of Christ, then fear is gone.  You don’t worry what future lies ahead because you have the perfect plan of God in you.  Believer fear because of the ignorance and the lack of understanding of: “What and who they are in Christ Jesus.”

Faith is the confidence.  It is the confidence that we can do all things in Christ Jesus who gives us the strength.  It is the confidence that God will supply all things that we need through Christ Jesus.  You see, there is no impossible with Body of Church.  There is nothing that is impossible with you, because you are living the newness of life in Christ where DOMINION is the now word.  You are to get up every morning to have dominion.  You are to dominate every circumstance in your life.

You don’t have to depend on other people’s resources, because you have all the resources in Christ Jesus in your disposal.  God is your SOURCE.  No human being is your source, only God and His Name is Jehova Jireh – My God shall provide.  You are free from sin, sickness, diseases, and poverty.  No man shall stand before you.  No man shall ever belittle you.  No man can ever talk to you in a condescending manner, because they will pay the price.  You are a child of the God Almighty.  Think about King Solomon.  Think about how people in his generation treated Solomon.  They treated him with respect and honor.  But we have greater than Solomon in our hearts and that is Jesus.

We have the Mind that Possess the Freedom to Choose

“The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too” (Genesis 3:6 NLT).

That was the downfall of the human race into sin. It was a choice made by Adam to separate from God and cling to her wife Eve, who just moments ago committed herself to the lies and deceptions of the devil. That was the beginning of life in bondage to sin and the effects of sin. That was the beginning of life that is alien to God. It is the life of sin and death, a life of sufferings, and a life of curse.

There are groups of people today who deny that men have the freedom of choice. They believe that God controls everything that happens to us, even our choices; and this is based on the extreme teaching of the “Sovereignty of God” doctrine. It teaches that our choices are irrelevant and they are meaningless, because God has already a set plan for each one of us, then everything that will happen to us is now all up to God. For example, they teach that you cannot receive your healing if God does not want you to be healed. Therefore, your determination to get healed is out of the question; your freedom to choose to be healed is irrelevant and meaningless. This unbiblical teaching is a faith killer.

Another faith killing teaching is that if you are born poor, it does not matter how you put your efforts to become rich, you will remain poor because God has destined you to become poor. They have this big question in their minds: If God is good, how come more than half of the world population is living in poverty? Or people are sick? The comforting answer they give is that, it might be the will of God that you remain in sickness or remain in poverty.

As a matter of fact, this teaching is beautiful for those who have not able to receive their healings, or prosperity, or deliverance from the bondage of sin. This teaching is the best escape goat for those who do not want to activate their faith. They can always put the blame on God that God does not allow them to get healed, to get out of poverty and delivered from sin. In short, they accuse God that it is the will of God for them not to be healed, remain in poverty and be succumbed into sin.

Please understand that I am not condemning anyone. I am not condemning those who are in sickness and diseases, and those who are in poverty, but it is the will of God that everyone is to be saved, saved from sin, and the effects of sin. The effects of sin are sickness and diseases, poverty and lack. Christ has redeemed us from sufferings caused by sin. “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”) that the blessings of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” (Galatians 3:13-14 NKJ).

Each of us has the freedom to choose. Just like Adam and Eve, they made a firm decision to choose the lies of the devil. The devil gave them a beautiful presentation and an offer that they could not refuse. That is the devil’s scheme. The devil will not come to you with ugly presentation; the devil always shows himself beautiful prior to make a resistible offer to you. The devil talks and walks as if he is a messenger of Light. Remember, the devil always presents you instant gratification; and once you take bite on it, you succumbed into spiritual death.

In Mark 5:25-34, there was a woman with 12 years of constant bleeding who received instant healing the moment she touched the garment of Jesus. Prior to this incident, Jesus had no knowledge that there was a woman present along with the crowd who were pressing him. Jesus only found that out the moment this woman touched the helm of his garment that the power came out from Him, and suddenly Jesus knew that there was someone was healed at that moment.

You see, that was a classic act of freedom to choose. Jesus has nothing to do with the will of that woman and her freedom to make a choice to be healed. As a matter of fact, Jesus was astonished by the faith of that woman – Her faith was made her whole. There is no indication in this story that God manipulated the whole incident to prove that God is sovereign as they claim. It was the will of that woman to believe that Jesus has the power to heal, and she believed it and made a decision to receive that healing and she received it. That woman never doubted if it is the will of Jesus to heal her. Because she knew that Jesus is the healer.

In Mark 10:17-22¸ there was a rich man who came to Jesus and asked how to receive the eternal life. Jesus told the rich man to sell all of his possessions and give the money to the poor and then follow Him. Instead of doing what Jesus had told him, the rich man went away sad because he had many possessions. You see, God has given us the freedom to choose. The rich man was given a choice, to be with Jesus or to be with his riches. But he chose to be with his riches. Jesus did not force the issue. Jesus was fair and very professional in his dealing with this man.

In John 6:60-69, Jesus just finished teaching a very hard message. And many of his disciples (not including the 12 disciples) were offended and Jesus challenged them with a harder one, and many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. Subsequently, Jesus then gave His 12 disciples a choice, if they wanted to leave also. But Peter made a choice to stay with Jesus. You see, God does not manipulate our minds like robots. God respects our freewill to choose.

The Bible never teaches that God has taken away our freedom of choice. As a matter of fact, God has challenged us to choose which life we are to spend.

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” (Deut 30:19 NLT).

“But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve …” (Joshua 24:15 NLT).

In Romans 12:2, the apostle Paul commanded us to renew our minds according to the word of God. We have a choice to change the way we think, and we have a choice to change the behavior of our minds.

Renewing of Your Mind

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may proved what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2 NKJV).

One of the most important things a newly born again believer needs to do right away is to renew his mind according to the word of God.  And by doing so, the newly born again believer will be able to know the perfect will of God in his life in a simple way.  It will also save him from any wasted time and difficulties making decisions in following the will of God.  God is faithful to let us know His perfect will for us.  He is always there to reveal His plans and purposes to His children.

Renewing of the mind is not that easy.  You have to make a choice to change the way you think. No one can change the way you think except you.  Change is a choice.  Nobody can change you, but you.  God will not do it for you, but you have to do it for yourself.  You see, a person can listen to thousands and thousands of sermons and teachings of the Word of God, and yet his mind remains the same old mind.

Unless you respond positively to the word of God and apply them into your life, your mind will never be renewed.  This is the same principle with faith – Faith without works is dead.  A mind that does not submit to the Word of God remains an old mind.

The moment you are born again, you received in your spirit (inner man) the Life of God and His Divine nature.  Your spirit becomes a New Creation in Christ.  Your spirit was re-created by the Life of God the moment you are born again.  However, your mind and your body remains the same as they are; they are never born again or re-created.  Only your spirit is re-created.  And now that you have been born again, your mind has to yield to the voice of your re-created spirit to live in the will of God.

Your re-created spirit is now having fellowship with the Son, the Holy Spirit and the Father God.  Your re-created spirit is now feeding with the living Word of God and immersing himself in the presence of God. Your re-created spirit is now leading you and directing your mind to conform into the ways and of the word of God.  Your spirit is communicating to your mind to follow the light of the word of God.  Your spirit is now acting as your light and conscience.

As your mind submits to the voice of your spirit, your mind is being renewed according to the ways and the word of God. The key point here is to immerse your spirit into the living Word of God and begin to act on the word.  You have to meditate and continue on to meditate on the word (See Joshua 1:8).

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect” (Romans 12:2 NLT).

Your mind must be changed or renewed in accordance with the Word of God and to the ways of God.   To renew your mind or to make changes in the way you think, you have to stop copying the behavior and customs of this world.  You have to replace the old mind with the new by rebuilding your mind according to the word of God.  You need to start thinking new thoughts and new ideas that are according to the ways of God.

There is no short cut in the renewing of the mind or changing the way you think in accordance to the Word of God.  The epistle of Paul declares that we have the mind of Christ.  Christ means the Anointing.  Therefore, we have the mind of the Anointing.  The anointing releases us from all bondage of the enemy.  You see, the Holy Spirit knew from the beginning that there is going to be a good fight of faith that the believers will encounter in the future. And that future is now. I want you to know that the mind is the battle ground between the spirit of faith (2 Corinthians 4:13) and the spirit of our mind (Ephesians 4:23).

It takes the grace of God and the fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit to have the spirit of our mind be renewed.  Once we respond positively to God’s grace and His anointing, then the battle is won.  You see, the Bible is here with us all the time, but the mighty anointing of the Holy Spirit and His grace shall be received by faith.  The more faith we have, the more grace and anointing will work for us.

Here are some scriptural foundations in renewing the spirit of our mind:

Allow your mind to rest in Him and be convinced that the ways of God are perfect and His Word is proven.   “As for God, His ways is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him” (Psalm 18:30).

Do not dwell in the past, pursue the future.  “… forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead” (Philippians 3:13).

Disassociate from the ungodly. “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful” (Psalm 1:1).

Seek godly counsel.  “Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days” (Proverbs 19:20).

Think positive.  “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things” (Philippians 4:8).

Make a firm decision to commit yourself to the Lord and to His works. “Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established” (Proverbs 16:3).

Put your mind always in humility.  “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God” (Philippians 2:5-6).

Speak What You Have In Christ

“I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say” (John 12:49-50 NLT).

“… No one can receive anything unless God gives it from heaven” (John 3:27 NLT).

“You can have what you say.” However, you can only possess what you confess, if and only if, you have qualified yourself. Yes, there is that qualification you need to meet in order to see results of the “Blab It and Grab It!” You cannot just make positive confessions and claim everything you want, and expect to receive them at any given time. This biblical principle is not magic. It is real and it is “Applied Practical Theology” to the nth degree. Even the “brightest mind” could not comprehend it because it can only be understood in the spiritual realm.

You also need to understand that there’s another Biblical principle that ties around it: “You can only receive what is given you from heaven.” If God didn’t give you what you want, then you’re not going to get it. No matter how you blab, confess, declare, decree, prophesy, utter, claim, scream, yell, speak, pray, intercede, voice out, voice in, or whatever you call it, if God does not want you to have it, or if God does not want it to come to pass, then you won’t have it, or you won’t see it, or you won’t feel it. You cannot manipulate or influence the will of God.

You can only receive a thing or things, if and only if, God gives them to you. And God will reveal these things in increments, little by little, precepts after precepts, line by line. Your spirit can only take spiritual realities according to the measure of your faith. Otherwise, spiritual things are alien to you.

And how do you know if God has given you the things that you desire, wanted and prayed for? Only if the Father has revealed to you that you can have what you supposed to have. God will tell you the things that belongs to you or those things that are yours. God will also tell you to receive them by your confessions, by claiming them, by “blabbing them.” This is Biblical principle that has been used in the Old Testament and even Jesus used it many, many times. Jesus spoke the Word and it came to pass.

You may ask how in the world the Almighty and Holy God will reveal, talk or speak to you and tell you what you have, and tell you what to say and how to say it? Can a human being hear from God? Millions and millions of Christians have difficulty dealing with the truth that God speaks to human beings. They literally “flip-out” when they hear a brother or sister say, “The Lord told me blah, blah, blah, …” Of course God is able to communicate with anyone in all manners of communication, imaginable or not. Nothing is impossible with God.

God is speaking to you all the time! As a matter of fact, God can use a wife to get the attention of an adulterous husband (or vice versa) to repent and live according to the ways of God. God can use the Bible to tell you to stop the gossip or else. God can use a television evangelist to give your tithes and offerings with a hilarious and willing heart in order to prosper you (this is very obvious). Millions of Christians are unable to hear from God because they refuse to listen to God. For example, many question God why they are impoverished. God has already answered them. Give with a cheerful heart, not being obligated to give, not being forced to give, but with a hilarious spirit and a happy giving attitude. Then you will be blessed.

“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. … The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children” (Romans 8:14, 16 NIV).

It is through our spirit that we know and have the assurance that we are the children of God. The same holds true when God speaks to us. It is through His Spirit in our spirit. When a believer says “The Lord told me …” he is actually referring to the conviction of the Holy Spirit to his spirit, the inner man. A believer is not telling us that he heard the voice of God through his sense of hearing, or through the physical ear, or through the auditory system. God speaks to us through our spirit, and we hear God through our spirit. It is our spirit’s conviction in response to God’s Word, His leading and His presence.

God is spirit. His Words are spirit. He is the Holy Spirit. You are a spirit. You have the Holy Spirit in you. You have the Spirit of Christ in you. Your spirit and God’s spirit are united together. You are being led by the spirit of God not by any physical senses or mind things. The spiritual realm is the truth. The physical realm is subject to lies, manipulations, deceptions, unsure things, doubts, double minds, fluctuating emotions, and spiking feelings and depressions.

Only a fool put his trust on his physical senses when it comes to the things of God. An audible voice can come from anywhere. But the voice of the Spirit is real and is founded on the character and personality of the living God. I really don’t put much care if you are hearing God audibly. Congratulations! But as child of God, I am led by the Super Power Anointing of the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit talks to my spirit! I am led by His Spirit!

“But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things yes, the deep things of God. … Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. … But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:10, 12, 14 NKJ).

The critics during Jesus’ time on earth accuse him of elevating himself equal to the Father God: especially the way he speaks about himself and God, address people’s situations, and or confess the Word of God. They could not stand Jesus’ teaching and preaching with all the authority and without apology. Even the devil and his cohorts shut up the moment Jesus opens his mouth. Jesus speaks with all power and authority. He declares the Word of God with boldness and without fear. And when Jesus speaks the unadulterated Word of God, great results come out for the glory of God.

Jesus did not speak on his own authority but the authority of the Father. You need to realize that you can have what you say, if and only if, the Father gives you the authority to speak His Word and how to speak it. However, if you speak your own word, your own mind, your own idea, your own philosophy, your own hypothesis, your own theory, your own dogma, your own statement of faith, your own confusion, your own belief, your own critique, your own thesis, your own prophecy, your own conviction, your own whatever, then it shall not going to work.

You need to speak what God has told you according to His character, personality and nature. God does not give us fear, or the spirit of fear. So every time you hear someone blurting out fear, that is not of God. Fear is the opposite of love. God is love. If someone is putting fear on you, then that is the devil himself talking, shut him up, resist him and he shall flee away from you!

People complain when there’s no result in their application of “You Can Have What You Say.” The question that needed answer is: Did the Father tell you to say this? If you know that God has told you to speak His Word, then speak it and receive the result. The Word of God, the Father’s Word that is given to you to speak out or confess will surely have results and it shall come to pass.

“So is my word that goes out from my mouth; It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11 NIV).

You see, His Word shall not return to God void. When God declares “who you are in Christ” and “what you have in Christ” according to His Word, then so be it. Jesus was bold to confess that he is the Son of the Living God, that he is the Christ, that he is the Resurrection, that he is the Way and the Truth and the Life, and so on and so forth. He is bold to speak about himself because the Father gave him the authority to speak these truths.

The same holds true with every child of God. In his epistles, Paul repeatedly declares our rights and privileges as children of God. Paul had been praying for the believers to have spiritual understanding of their identity in Christ. Just like Jesus, the believer’s identity in Christ is to be declared or confessed continuously without stopping or even pausing. God delights in the confession of our mouths that declares His great wisdom and majestic awesome work in us. And we are the workmanship of God. We are God’s awesome work. We are God’s majestic finished product.

We can boldly say that “In Christ I can do everything.” We can boldly say that “In Christ I am more than a conqueror.” We can boldly say that “In Christ I am healed, I am rich, I am prosperous and I am healthy.” We can boldly say that “I have the mind of Christ.” We can boldly say that “I am complete in Christ.” We can boldly say that “In Christ, the devil is under my feet.” We can boldly say that “I am the righteousness of God in Christ.”

The believer is one with Christ. The New Creation is in union with Him. Just like Jesus’ oneness with God the Father, so are we in Christ. We are one with God. When a believer began to confess with his mouth the things that God has freely given him, he’ll become a powerhouse in the kingdom of God. A believer who is conscious of who is in Christ and what he has in Him, there is no limit to what he can do for the glory of God.

We are complete in Christ. We are not supposed to live in lack. We are not supposed to live in poverty. We are not supposed to live in fear. We are not supposed to live under the power of the devil. We are not supposed to live in defeat. We are more than conquerors in Christ. We have the mind of Christ. We have the power of the resurrection of Christ in us. We are healed and made whole in Christ.

Who cares about the future? We have our hope in Christ. We don’t worry about the future. Our future is already known and established. Christ is our future. We don’t need to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. We don’t even need to know the signs and times for tomorrow, let us leave that to the “wanna be prophets.” We don’t need to know the word for tomorrow, because we already know what is waiting for us tomorrow. If we are “In Christ” then that settles all our needs, wants, desires, confusions, questions, fears or whatever in life.

Tomorrow is a done deal. Who cares about the economy, the tsunami, the earthquakes, the politics, things that are going to happen in the future? I know God has put His enemy under His feet, under our feet. This positive behavior and attitude is what the Book of Hebrews calls: “THE REST OF FAITH.” This is all we need to be, resting in the faith that God has given us. Preach the Gospel of Christ, not your personal message.

You Can Have What You Say

The statement “You can have what you say” is probably the most misunderstood statement ever uttered in the entire bible-believing world. This statement has created divisions amongst people who call themselves followers of Christ. They have divided themselves into camps of people who claim themselves as “the non-heretics” and judged others as “the heretics,” and vice versa. While others stayed away from negative criticisms, others have divulged themselves in feasting and enjoying themselves in attacking the claims of “You can have what you say.”

But today’s digital wi-fi generation has almost no clue or whatsoever of what is really meant by “You can have what you say!” This statement has become virtually alien to them. And not surprisingly, almost gone are the zealous attackers of this positive confession. Where are they now? Whatever happened to their calling as watchdogs or guardians of the truths or whatever they call themselves?

This statement “You can have what you say” came out with a blast sometime in the first quarter of 1900’s and it became popular hit in the 60’s throughout the late 2000s. People who remain faithful to this teaching claim that it works alright with them, and they also claim that they are reaping every benefits and fruits of this positive confession right to this very moment. On the contrary, some claim the opposite and contend that it does not work. Others, however, were sidelined and suffered the worst of life you could imagine. Nevertheless, only the “test of time” can tell who remains in the truth after the shaking is done.

One of the many, many mysterious “mindsets” of a mere human being is his vehement denial of taking the responsibility for committing a self-inflicted error. You have to prove that “human being” of guilty beyond any reasonable doubt before accepting that he/she is wrong and in error or at fault. However, a human being has the power to choose and determine to himself to continue to live a life of deceptions and lies.

“You can have what you say” advocates cite their claims on many biblical verses both in the Old and New Testaments scripture. One of the famous verses is Mark 11:23 NLT “I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen, and have no doubt in your heart.”

Another verse is Romans 10:9-10 NLT “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.”

There are many scriptures and incidents in the Bible in which confession and speaking have in fact made dramatic manifestations of signs, wonders and miracles that defy the laws of nature. When you read these incidents that defy the laws of nature, in which confession and speaking is involve, it’s either you accept them as truths, or fables, or myths, or tales, or allegories, or legends, or parables. It all boils down to your personal conviction of the written Word of God.

Your personal conviction regarding the truthfulness or the reality of the written word of God becomes the foundation of your faith, of your belief, even your mind set. And you may say that you are entitled to your own opinion, however, in God’s Administration of Justice, human beings have no right of their own opinion. In the presence of the King of kings and Lord of Lords, no one has the right to speak of his own, except to bow down his knees to the Almighty God. No arguments. No rationalization. No excuse, except the rightful administration of the justice of God is to be executed swiftly.

If you read and digest Mark 11:24 and Romans 10:9-10, it is a no brainer to establish any argument against the premise of these scriptures. Here is the premise: If you believe in what you say, then you can have it. Or, you don’t have what you had said, because you failed to believe what you had said. You did not have it because what actually you did was played games in your mind and not being truthful in your heart.

Someone made a confession of having a million dollars right at that moment. But it never came to pass. Does it prove that the principle of Mark 11:24 and Romans 10:9-10 is false and there is no truth in them? Of course not, because some believers made the same confession and they received what they said. How do you explain that? Why is it that those who does not believe and despise this teachings never received the goodness and prosperity according to the scriptures?

And why is it that majority of those who teach and preach positive confessions have positive results in their ministry and positive things in their personal life? The answer is a no brainer. It is how an individual reacts, perceives, accepts, responds, fellowships, obeys, thinks, and does to the Word of God. You have the Word of God in you, and what are you going to do about it?

The statement “You can have what you say” works only according to the will of God. No matter how you claim another man’s wife or woman’s husband to be yours will never happen, because adultery is not the will of God. The same applies for covetousness. “You can have what you say” never materializes for covetousness. We can go on and on for the same premise. You have to judge your heart, its motive, its attitude, its behavior, its faithfulness and truthfulness before God.

Psalm 103 is one of the many outstanding confessions that a child of God can do. This positive confession is a declaration of the perfect will of God for every believer. I heard one of the renowned advocates of “You can have what you say” that he began to apply this truth in the 60’s and it still works to this age. He said, “It works. The Word of God works.” This man of God is a living testimony that God is a good God. His word is truth.

On my observation, the Holy Spirit continuous to teach the Church of this truth, but in many diverse approaches with greater revelations of His Word. The people of God have learned to decree and to speak prophetic utterances of the word of God for greater works, and mighty signs and wonders for the propagation of the Gospel of Christ. You can have what you say!

Biblical Leadership Style: Enforcing Justice and Righteousness

Jeremiah 23:4-5 (NLT) declares:

“Then I will appoint responsible shepherds who will care for them, and they will never be afraid again. Not a single one will be lost or missing. I, the Lord, have spoken!

“For the time is coming,” says the Lord, “when I will raise up a righteous descendant from King David’s line. He will be a King who rules with wisdom. He will do what is just and right throughout the land.”

Biblical leadership is to lead the flocks of God into His divine purpose and calling in their life. Leadership is not about you, but it is you to guide the flocks and help them find their place in the Body of Christ. Every flock has a place and function in the Body of Christ. It is the leadership’s responsibility to help the flock develop and fulfill his/her calling.

Biblical leadership is servant hood. It is to serve and not to be served. Jesus ministry on earth is all about His service to His disciples and to those people around Him. He preached and taught the good news. He healed those who are sick. He set deliverance to those captives by the devil. He gave His life for us.

Even before the foundation of the earth, God has already raised up leaders who will do what is JUST and RIGHT in caring for God’s flocks. These God appointed leaders are to execute and enforce justice and righteousness. And by doing so, God’s flocks are well taken care of. They shall not live in fear, shall not stumble, and shall not perish. Doing what is JUST means doing what is legally correct or lawful, and doing what is RIGHT means conforming to facts or truth.

These Biblical criteria are challenges along the paths of leadership in the Body of Christ. They expose the aspiring leader’s inner man: his conscience and the attitude of his heart. The leader has to qualify through a subtle process of elimination wherein it exposes any ulterior motive of the heart, and evil thoughts of the soul. The Spirit of God and His Word shall scrutinize the spirit, soul and body. God will surely expose the deep secrets of the hidden man. It is a challenge of integrity, honesty, morality, and maturity in the true faith.

Throughout history, God has never failed to expose every lying and deceiving heart. Like a common street proverb says, “You can run but you cannot hide.” Never in the law of nature had darkness overcame light. God is light in Him there is no darkness at all. God in His time always executes justice and righteousness. The price of leadership is the place where God has called you, and many have failed to find their right place in the Body of Christ. They missed their call and stumbled with all of its humiliations.

When God was searching for a qualified king for the nation of Israel, God looks not at the outward appearance. God looks at the heart. Appearance is deceptive and manipulative. Jesus warned His disciples that the devil clothes himself like a messenger of the Holy God, but underneath that cover is evil. Instead of unity, the devil divides and conquers. He is the embodiment and personification of strife. It is the very nature of the devil.

The heart of a leader shall always be put to the challenge by the flocks. And that challenge shall not be construed as being suspicious or malicious act against the leadership but a constant check on the welfare of the leader’s heart. Because anyone who lives clean shall always come out clean. As a matter of fact, a great and outstanding preaching comes from a clean heart, because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Leadership is not dominion over the flocks. Biblical leadership does not put pressure to the flocks to submit to leadership. There is no pressure in faith. This is the very reason why every member of the Body of Christ should and must know what part and what place in the Body he/she belongs. If you know that God has placed you to leadership, then you are the servant of God’s flocks. You are there to lead, guide, and to serve. Biblical leadership is service: waiting on tables to serve people.

In leadership especially on family, I have seen many live in a state of denial. The worst offenders are the parents. They have grave difficulty recognizing what is just and right for their children especially when their children are caught of being dishonest, or guilty of immoral or illegal activity. They deny that their “little baby” is incapable doing such evil. This same state of denial is very much alive and well within the leadership of many churches.

Many are afraid of even questioning the integrity of a leader. Many believe that challenging the integrity of a leader is an act of rebellion or even committing sin. But there is absolutely nothing wrong of challenging the integrity of a leader. As matter of fact, Jesus asked His disciples of who He is, “Who do you think I am …?” Even John the Baptist sent one of his disciples to validate if Jesus was the Messiah they’ve been waiting for or they have to find the real one.

It does not matter if a leader is the most renewed mind according to the Word, and Spirit filled inward and outward, speaking in other tongues, and leads a big time ministry for almost a century of experience. That leader is still subject to an inflated ego. Ego can lift you up without warning. You can’t even discern it. It creeps quietly and innocently. It is subtle. It is only by the mercy and grace of God that we are all safe from our SELF.

It is true that the devil is under our feet and he is a defeated foe. We can discern his strategies and his schemes. How about ourselves? Can we really trust ourselves? Our worst enemy is not the devil but our ego. Adam was not deceived by the devil. The woman was. However, Adam subjected himself to himself and disobeyed God.

Adam failed to operate according to justice and righteousness of God. He felt sorry for Eve’s disobedience. Instead of standing in what is just and what is right, Adam joined Eve in rebellion against God. You see, the devil played around with Adam’s emotions and feelings of seeing Eve as the victim and needed comfort, someone to be on her side, when in fact Eve was the disobedient and rebellious before God.

Leadership goes beyond being subjective in making decisions. Being subjective opens doors for the devil to destroy you and scatter your flocks. You need to stand on the Written Word of God alone. If it is not in the Scripture, then it is not of God. It may sound very religious and very spiritual, however, if it is not written anywhere in the Bible, then it is not of God. This was the very secret of Joshua’s success. He lives according to the Scripture. He did not digress from every iota of the Word.

“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your throne” (Psalm 89: 14 NKJ).

You see, God’s throne is founded on righteousness and justice. God loves you and He is forever merciful God and His grace is upon you, but He is also the God of righteousness and justice. Although God has forgiven your sin and sins, the justice of God and His righteousness have to be satisfied. It is going to be between you and the Lord.

Biblical Leadership Style: The Wisdom of God

1 Corinthians 3:19-21 (NLT) – For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scripture say, “He traps the wise in the snare of their own cleverness.” And again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise; he knows they are worthless.” So don’t boast about following a particular human leader.

Human beings have authored millions of books and articles about leadership and majority of these “self professed successful leaders” have misled millions in believing a perverted principle of leadership. There are only two kinds of leadership on earth: “leadership by the wisdom of God” and “leadership by the wisdom of man.” There is no in-between. The leader could be under the guidance of the Spirit of the living God or under the influence of a spirit of darkness. There is no gray area or neutral ground in the arena of leadership.

I have read many leadership books and articles and to my amazement many authors seldom or not at all give any reference or credit to God and to His Word. During the course of my readings, I discovered that what I actually read is just pure wisdom coming from a mere man, or from the wisdom of this world. The principles they represent appear so good but they are just material and physical success. The truth is the success they’re talking about will only remain here on the planet earth and will never ever make it to the kingdom of God and into the new heavens and new earth.

First of all let me tell you the Biblical truth regarding SUCCESS:

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do” (Joshua 1:8 NLT).

Joshua the successor of Moses was given the Scripture to serve him as the only guiding light to prosperity and success in all he do. He will lead the nation of Israel to prosperity, peaceful living, abundance in health and wealth, a nation feared by the world in military might, and to be feared as a result of the wisdom of God. Joshua’s success goes beyond the material and physical things. He will reign and rule and govern in the new earth and the new heavens in the kingdom of God.

There’s no leader of any existed or existing country on earth have ever accomplished this kind of success, never in human history. Joshua is the man. His leadership style is the faith in God. The scripture declares that we overcome the world through our faith, by our faith and with our faith in God. And the only person who can claim success and flawless leadership is God – no one else. History tells us that leaders who did not follow God’s principles and the scriptures have ended their careers in many gruesome ways. Their personal lives have been ruined by gold, girls, and glory or whatever.

True success can only be attained by living according to the principles of the Scriptures. If a book (authored by a mere man) that talks about success and has no bearing on the principles of the word of God, then everything that book says is a failure. That book is just pure “Dr. Feel Good” baloney. That book contains mere man’s opinion and that is all. It has no foundation of success that can hold eternity. In contrast, God’s Word is eternal, heaven and earth shall pass away but God’s Word shall remain and will come to pass. God’s principle is founded in eternity.

It is no wonder that the bestselling book in the history of humans is the B-I-B-L-E and it still stands at this very moment. The “success” that the scripture is talking about is not only geared on temporal times, not limited to the existing world system. Biblical success is geared towards the eternal reign of believers in Christ, believers’ eternal ruler ship, leadership, and government on the new earth forever and ever. It is the eternal leadership of every faithful in Christ to rule the new world.

For example, a faithful janitor in Christ who faithfully conducts his business in the Lord without asking for any recognition or any form of exultation from human beings for that thing he do is a perfect fit for true biblical success and leadership. That janitor is geared towards eternal leadership and he will reign over cities in the new earth forever and ever. He could be a janitor here on earth for a few years but a ruler or a governor of a city on the new earth forever.

Biblical success is finding and knowing your role what God has given you, and to play it faithfully in the body of Christ. Being successful in life is doing what you are supposed to be doing in the body. You need to find out if you are part of the hands, arms, legs, head, back, chest, and so forth in the many parts of the body. It is a miserable thing and a failure in life if you are in a wrong place of the body. You cannot be an ear if you are called to be a finger. God will not back you up in any plans and dreams that you are fighting for because you are in rebellion in His plans for you. You need to be a team player.

The wisdom of man will tell you principles of success that are actually the very opposite of God’s wisdom. For example, the world’s system never operates in faith. Faith is not in their vocabulary. They are totally dependent on their resources, strength, and intellect. The system of the world will never embark on things by faith. It will make sure that there is a solid material tangible, physical resource that guarantees its venture. Therefore, faith is out of the question.

However, the wisdom of God is totally the opposite of the world because it talks faith. Faith is where a believer in Christ separates himself from the system of this world. It’s difficult for a man who lives for many years in the world system and then jump in to the unknown and operate in faith. He needs to renew his mind according to the ways of God. It takes quality time and there is no short cut. He needs to surround himself with the word of God and not allow doubt and fear to influence his mind.

A faithless person is useless in the kingdom of God. As a matter of fact he becomes a dangerous human being and a disaster for those who know how to operate in faith. A good example is the 10 spies who feared to enter and posses the promise land, except for Joshua and Caleb. The 10 spies dragged the whole nation of Israel into the wilderness to live there for forty years and then died for nothing. You don’t want to be with someone or even working with anybody that will drag you into the wilderness, no sir. As for me and my house, we will enjoy all the goodness of God that is freely given to us.

Joshua knew that He was called by God to lead His people to the promise land. It is not enough to know that you are called to do a thing for God, but God requires you to follow the Book of Instruction (the Scripture), to meditate night and day. God had required Joshua to soak himself in His Word day in and day out. It is digesting the instructions of God and immersing himself into the ways of God on how to deal with things, especially the big ones, the impossible ones to conquer.

If you are in the right place and in the right time where God wants you to be, then that is success to the nth degree. Every demon in hell will leave you alone. Even Satan himself will never dare to put his finger on you, he may try but it will not prosper. This is the wisdom of God: allowing yourself to be in the perfect place in the Body of Christ. And when you do, there is no limit in doing the works of God. Jesus said that greater things shall you do. And if you are in your right place, you are not a hindrance to progress of the gospel of Christ.

There is no limit in conquering and accomplishing anything in this world, that if you are in the right place and in the right time where God has called you. Joshua knew that he was in the perfect will of God. Joshua faithfully waited for his time to lead. He faithfully subjected himself to the authority and leadership of Moses. Joshua knew that God was preparing him for the big one in his life, but he needed to prepare himself. He needed to learn the ways of God. He needed to learn to be a faithful follower for him to be good leader. He was there at all times supporting Moses and serving Moses without complain, without grumble, but rather total obedience to his great mentor.

And when the time came for Joshua to lead, it was a different Joshua that came out from Egypt. Forty years of molding and learning and staying put in the faith have prepared Joshua for the big one. Joshua has proven that God is not a liar. He has proven that God is not a hyped. He has proven that God is no “Dr. Feel Good.” Joshua conquered everything that needed to be conquered. He is bold. He lives and walks and talks faith. When he opens his mouth, faith comes out. You could even smell his faith from a distance. There is no fear in him. The devil trembles at Joshua’s presence. God fulfilled His word to Joshua and the nation of Israel lived and enjoyed the blessings of God under his leadership.

“Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true” (Joshua 21:45 NLT).
