Faith for Healing Study Outline

This study outline is meant to be a guide for you to search the Scriptures and reflect on the living Word of God.

“The power of God can be claimed only where the will of God is known” by FF Bosworth.

Main Text: Mark 5:21-42

The story of a woman, who had been sick for twelve years, received her healing because of her faith.

It is false to believe that healing is not applicable for us today:

They believe that healing ceased when the scriptures were completed.
They believe that healing was for the apostles’ time only.
They believe that God has given us medical science to provide cure for sickness and diseases.

It is false to believe that sickness is for the glory of God:

This common belief is based on two misinterpretations of scriptures.
John 11:1-4, 40-44
Rebuttal: Lazarus was raised for the glory of God. He was never sick for the glory of God.
John 9:1-6
Rebuttal: This man’s blindness was not in itself for the glory of God. However, the healing power of God that was manifested glorified God.

It is false to believe that sickness is a form of chastisement from God to teach us:

They support this claim based on Hebrews 12:6.
The Greek word for “chastisement” actually means to instruct or to train.
God instructs and trains us through His Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
God does not use the devil to teach us, correct us, and discipline us.
God does not tempt us. He does not use evil to test us (James 1:13).
It is true that God tests us. It allows us to see where the level of our faith is (1Pet 1:7).
God’s Word is our test – whether we will believe it and act on it, or not.

Genesis 1:26-28 Man had the authority on earth, but he surrendered it to the devil.
Romans 5:12-13 Sin came then death.
Genesis 3:16-19 Sin came then death.
John 10:10 The devil came to steal, kill and destroy.

Exodus 15:26 – I Am the Lord that heals you.
Exodus 23:25-26 – He will take away sickness.
Deuteronomy 7:15 – He will take away sickness.
Psalm 91:9-10 – No plague will come to you.

Healing is a fulfillment of the promise of God:
Matthew 8:14-17, 1 Peter 2:24
Jesus was made sin with our sins, sick with our sickness.
Sickness is a spiritual thing revealed in the physical body.
God laid our sins and sicknesses on Jesus and Jesus bore them away.

Sickness and diseases were brought by the curse:
Deut. 28:15, 21-22, 27-28, 34-35, 58-62

Jesus has freed us from the curse:
Galatians 3:13

Redemption is both spiritual and physical:
Mark 2:1-12 – Forgiving of sin and physical healing performed by Jesus.

Healing belongs to the children of Abraham:
Luke 13:16 – Jesus freed the woman bounded by Satan.
Galatians 3:29 – Christians are heirs of the blessings of Abraham.

Luke 5: 12-13 Is it God’s will to heal me?
The man begged Jesus to be healed:
If you are willing (If it is God’s will to heal me)
You can heal me (Then heal me)
And make me clean (And forgive my sins)

Jesus healed all kinds of sicknesses and diseases:
Matthew 4:23-25 – Jesus healed them ALL.
Matthew 8:16-17 – Jesus healed ALL the sick.
Matthew 9:35-36 – Jesus healed every kind of disease and illness.
Matthew 12:15 – Jesus healed ALL the sick among them.
Matthew 14:14 – Jesus healed their sick.
Matthew 14:34-36 – ALL who touched Jesus were healed.
Matthew 15:30-31 – Jesus healed them ALL.

Hebrews 4:14-16 – You have to come boldly to God.

Verse 27-28 – knowingly guilty of sin or offense against the body of Christ.
Verse 30- therefore, some become sick or died prematurely.

Faith comes by hearing the word of God.

Mark 11:22-24

What to do from prayer for healing until the manifestation of physical healing?
Romans 4:16-21, 2 Corinthians 5:7
Even when there was no reason for hope, keep the hope.
Do not waver because of what you see in the physical realm.
Do not waver in the faith.
Being convinced that God is able to do His promise
Give glory, keep praising and thanking the Lord for your healing.
