Speak What You Have In Christ

“I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say” (John 12:49-50 NLT).

“… No one can receive anything unless God gives it from heaven” (John 3:27 NLT).

“You can have what you say.” However, you can only possess what you confess, if and only if, you have qualified yourself. Yes, there is that qualification you need to meet in order to see results of the “Blab It and Grab It!” You cannot just make positive confessions and claim everything you want, and expect to receive them at any given time. This biblical principle is not magic. It is real and it is “Applied Practical Theology” to the nth degree. Even the “brightest mind” could not comprehend it because it can only be understood in the spiritual realm.

You also need to understand that there’s another Biblical principle that ties around it: “You can only receive what is given you from heaven.” If God didn’t give you what you want, then you’re not going to get it. No matter how you blab, confess, declare, decree, prophesy, utter, claim, scream, yell, speak, pray, intercede, voice out, voice in, or whatever you call it, if God does not want you to have it, or if God does not want it to come to pass, then you won’t have it, or you won’t see it, or you won’t feel it. You cannot manipulate or influence the will of God.

You can only receive a thing or things, if and only if, God gives them to you. And God will reveal these things in increments, little by little, precepts after precepts, line by line. Your spirit can only take spiritual realities according to the measure of your faith. Otherwise, spiritual things are alien to you.

And how do you know if God has given you the things that you desire, wanted and prayed for? Only if the Father has revealed to you that you can have what you supposed to have. God will tell you the things that belongs to you or those things that are yours. God will also tell you to receive them by your confessions, by claiming them, by “blabbing them.” This is Biblical principle that has been used in the Old Testament and even Jesus used it many, many times. Jesus spoke the Word and it came to pass.

You may ask how in the world the Almighty and Holy God will reveal, talk or speak to you and tell you what you have, and tell you what to say and how to say it? Can a human being hear from God? Millions and millions of Christians have difficulty dealing with the truth that God speaks to human beings. They literally “flip-out” when they hear a brother or sister say, “The Lord told me blah, blah, blah, …” Of course God is able to communicate with anyone in all manners of communication, imaginable or not. Nothing is impossible with God.

God is speaking to you all the time! As a matter of fact, God can use a wife to get the attention of an adulterous husband (or vice versa) to repent and live according to the ways of God. God can use the Bible to tell you to stop the gossip or else. God can use a television evangelist to give your tithes and offerings with a hilarious and willing heart in order to prosper you (this is very obvious). Millions of Christians are unable to hear from God because they refuse to listen to God. For example, many question God why they are impoverished. God has already answered them. Give with a cheerful heart, not being obligated to give, not being forced to give, but with a hilarious spirit and a happy giving attitude. Then you will be blessed.

“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. … The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children” (Romans 8:14, 16 NIV).

It is through our spirit that we know and have the assurance that we are the children of God. The same holds true when God speaks to us. It is through His Spirit in our spirit. When a believer says “The Lord told me …” he is actually referring to the conviction of the Holy Spirit to his spirit, the inner man. A believer is not telling us that he heard the voice of God through his sense of hearing, or through the physical ear, or through the auditory system. God speaks to us through our spirit, and we hear God through our spirit. It is our spirit’s conviction in response to God’s Word, His leading and His presence.

God is spirit. His Words are spirit. He is the Holy Spirit. You are a spirit. You have the Holy Spirit in you. You have the Spirit of Christ in you. Your spirit and God’s spirit are united together. You are being led by the spirit of God not by any physical senses or mind things. The spiritual realm is the truth. The physical realm is subject to lies, manipulations, deceptions, unsure things, doubts, double minds, fluctuating emotions, and spiking feelings and depressions.

Only a fool put his trust on his physical senses when it comes to the things of God. An audible voice can come from anywhere. But the voice of the Spirit is real and is founded on the character and personality of the living God. I really don’t put much care if you are hearing God audibly. Congratulations! But as child of God, I am led by the Super Power Anointing of the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit talks to my spirit! I am led by His Spirit!

“But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things yes, the deep things of God. … Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. … But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:10, 12, 14 NKJ).

The critics during Jesus’ time on earth accuse him of elevating himself equal to the Father God: especially the way he speaks about himself and God, address people’s situations, and or confess the Word of God. They could not stand Jesus’ teaching and preaching with all the authority and without apology. Even the devil and his cohorts shut up the moment Jesus opens his mouth. Jesus speaks with all power and authority. He declares the Word of God with boldness and without fear. And when Jesus speaks the unadulterated Word of God, great results come out for the glory of God.

Jesus did not speak on his own authority but the authority of the Father. You need to realize that you can have what you say, if and only if, the Father gives you the authority to speak His Word and how to speak it. However, if you speak your own word, your own mind, your own idea, your own philosophy, your own hypothesis, your own theory, your own dogma, your own statement of faith, your own confusion, your own belief, your own critique, your own thesis, your own prophecy, your own conviction, your own whatever, then it shall not going to work.

You need to speak what God has told you according to His character, personality and nature. God does not give us fear, or the spirit of fear. So every time you hear someone blurting out fear, that is not of God. Fear is the opposite of love. God is love. If someone is putting fear on you, then that is the devil himself talking, shut him up, resist him and he shall flee away from you!

People complain when there’s no result in their application of “You Can Have What You Say.” The question that needed answer is: Did the Father tell you to say this? If you know that God has told you to speak His Word, then speak it and receive the result. The Word of God, the Father’s Word that is given to you to speak out or confess will surely have results and it shall come to pass.

“So is my word that goes out from my mouth; It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11 NIV).

You see, His Word shall not return to God void. When God declares “who you are in Christ” and “what you have in Christ” according to His Word, then so be it. Jesus was bold to confess that he is the Son of the Living God, that he is the Christ, that he is the Resurrection, that he is the Way and the Truth and the Life, and so on and so forth. He is bold to speak about himself because the Father gave him the authority to speak these truths.

The same holds true with every child of God. In his epistles, Paul repeatedly declares our rights and privileges as children of God. Paul had been praying for the believers to have spiritual understanding of their identity in Christ. Just like Jesus, the believer’s identity in Christ is to be declared or confessed continuously without stopping or even pausing. God delights in the confession of our mouths that declares His great wisdom and majestic awesome work in us. And we are the workmanship of God. We are God’s awesome work. We are God’s majestic finished product.

We can boldly say that “In Christ I can do everything.” We can boldly say that “In Christ I am more than a conqueror.” We can boldly say that “In Christ I am healed, I am rich, I am prosperous and I am healthy.” We can boldly say that “I have the mind of Christ.” We can boldly say that “I am complete in Christ.” We can boldly say that “In Christ, the devil is under my feet.” We can boldly say that “I am the righteousness of God in Christ.”

The believer is one with Christ. The New Creation is in union with Him. Just like Jesus’ oneness with God the Father, so are we in Christ. We are one with God. When a believer began to confess with his mouth the things that God has freely given him, he’ll become a powerhouse in the kingdom of God. A believer who is conscious of who is in Christ and what he has in Him, there is no limit to what he can do for the glory of God.

We are complete in Christ. We are not supposed to live in lack. We are not supposed to live in poverty. We are not supposed to live in fear. We are not supposed to live under the power of the devil. We are not supposed to live in defeat. We are more than conquerors in Christ. We have the mind of Christ. We have the power of the resurrection of Christ in us. We are healed and made whole in Christ.

Who cares about the future? We have our hope in Christ. We don’t worry about the future. Our future is already known and established. Christ is our future. We don’t need to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. We don’t even need to know the signs and times for tomorrow, let us leave that to the “wanna be prophets.” We don’t need to know the word for tomorrow, because we already know what is waiting for us tomorrow. If we are “In Christ” then that settles all our needs, wants, desires, confusions, questions, fears or whatever in life.

Tomorrow is a done deal. Who cares about the economy, the tsunami, the earthquakes, the politics, things that are going to happen in the future? I know God has put His enemy under His feet, under our feet. This positive behavior and attitude is what the Book of Hebrews calls: “THE REST OF FAITH.” This is all we need to be, resting in the faith that God has given us. Preach the Gospel of Christ, not your personal message.
