Living in Freedom

“Even that question came up only because of some so-called Christians there – false ones, really – who were secretly brought in. They sneaked in to spy on us and take away the freedom we have in Christ Jesus. They wanted to enslave us and force us to follow their Jewish regulations. But we refused to give in to them for a single moment. We wanted to preserve the truth of the gospel message for you” (Galatians 2:4-5 NLT).

Although Paul wrote this letter to the Galatians, the Spirit of the Lord has preserved this letter with the intention of allowing this epistle to be read, digested, and be understood by the Body of Christ as a knowledge of His will, a revelation of His word to be put in obedience and apply in the believers’ life. The Lord has given us a very clear and not complicated instruction – to preserve the truth of the gospel message.

We must realize that no one in this present age is smarter than the devil, especially in word exchange, word games, debate, arguments, verbal judo or whatever. The devil was not born yesterday. He has been there living in lies for ages. As a matter of fact, he has no ability to tell the truth. When he opens his mouth, lies come out. Therefore, we don’t give the devil a space in our thoughts. We must not even attempt to rationalize with his antics or try to reason with him. If you do, he will swiftly bind your mind under his control, especially if you’re not sure of what you’re talking about, thinking about or considering about.

Paul was not happy to hear that there were so-called Christians who were influenced by the devil in attempting to sway the believers’ faith and put them back to bondage. A person who’s deceived will never know that he’s being deceived, not until that person humbles himself in the Lord and repent. Also, a person who is deceived will sincerely believes in his heart that everything he does and says is right, and that he thinks that he is always right. You can be in bondage again if you will allow yourself to believe in the devil’s lies.

One of the many signs of unbiblical teachings is legalism, and it is a lie. It could sound very spiritual, but it is not Biblical. Advocates of this belief always deny that they are not legalistic; however, we are not dumb and stupid to not be able to discern their spirit. The Holy Spirit will always lead us into all truths, and He is our teacher. The spirit of legalism appears to be following the fruits of righteousness; however, it is the opposite of God’s grace and not according to His grace.

“So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law” (Galatians 5:1 NLT).

The term “slavery to the law” in this verse also covers the “spirit of legalism.” It is the law of the spirit of sin and death. Believers have been advised and warned not to be in bondage in this spirit again, and that they shall and continue to remain free in Christ. Many Christians have turned their back from the faith because they were poisoned by the spirit of legalism. It became too much for them to continue in this kind of life. Life becomes tiring, burdensome, guilt is always present, sin consciousness is always there; victorious life and overcoming life is alien to them.

God came down to earth to redeem and free you from the bondage of sin. Jesus took your place and paid your sin to free you from the works of the devil. It is the purpose of God to give you a life of freedom and be able to enjoy it to the fullest. Those who have the life of Christ in them are supposed to be the happiest people in the world. There is joy in the Holy Ghost, joy unspeakable. There is rejoicing, rejoicing all the time.

A believer, who realizes that he has been set free, never again speaks of negative word, but speaks of faith filled words. Even in the midst of all impossibilities and limitations of men, he speaks the word of faith. He overcomes the world with his faith. The Lord warned us that there is nothing you can do if you worry and complain. Your problem stays when you worry about it. But if you praise Him and thanked God for the solution, and speak to the problem to be removed, and believe the words that coming of our mouth, the solution becomes reality. When you believe in what you say, it will come to pass, the problem disappears. See Mark 11:23.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 6:36 KJV). Yes, every Christian has been freed from the works of the enemy. A believer has been freed from the bondage of the spirit of legalism, from the power of sin and the effects of sin, from sickness and disease, from poverty and oppression of the devil. Jesus came to free you and you must believe it.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring the Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come” (Luke 4:18-19 NLT).

The good news remains the same. Jesus has never change. He remains the same yesterday, today and forever. In Christ, you are set free from anything that oppresses you. You are set free from any bondage of sin and the effects of sin. You are set free from sickness and disease. The Bible declares that it is not God’s will for you to remain in sickness and disease. One of God’s titles is “Jehovah Rapha,” which means “I AM the Lord that heals.” God is the Healer. In His earthly ministry, Jesus healed everyone who came to him. Many received their healing because of their faith. In Hebrews 11:6, it says that it is impossible to please God without faith. God is the healer. The question is not “if the Lord is willing to heal you,” but the question is, do you have faith to receive your healing? Now don’t be condemned if you haven’t seen or feel your healing in the physical realm. Believe the word and stick to it that by the stripes of Jesus you were healed.

Don’t listen to negative remarks, negative teachings, negative comments, oppositions regarding healing belongs to you. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. Personal experience does not change the Good News. The Good News remains the same. God never changes in His character. He heals during the apostles’ time and He continues to be the same God who forever heals. In God’s presence, there is healing, but in the presence of unbelief, negative thoughts, and negative words, God is limited. God can’t heal you if you determined in your mind and in your heart that it is not God’s will to heal you.

You have been set free from poverty. Jesus came to be poor so that you shall be rich. Yes, it is the will of God for you to be rich financially. That is according to the scripture. The Bible addresses this issue of financial problems in many different ways in the lives of the people of Old and the New Testament. And verses after verses have been given to us in order to solve the problem of bankruptcy, debt, lack, poverty, begging, and even hunger for food. You need to understand that money is not evil, but the LOVE of money is. A true child of God does not love money, and as matter of fact he is willing to give out even the last penny in his wallet to the kingdom of God. The Bible identifies and describes him as a believer who never gives his money out of necessity. He never gives because there is a need. He never gives because he is being pressured to give. A believer gives because he loves the Lord, and he gives with a hilarious heart – he gives cheerfully.

Although multitudes of church goers give their tithes and offerings, they still remain in poverty, lack, in debt, in bankruptcy, in needs, in wants, because they don’t follow the Biblical way of giving. God loves those who give with a CHEERFUL HEART. And if you give without a cheerful heart, you just wasted your money to nothing. You might as well save it, keep it, and buy something to eat after the service is over. You’re stomach might be satisfied at least.

Don’t give because you have been pressured to give. Don’t give because there is a need to give, or you are obligated to give. Faith is not being pressured to do something. Faith does not operate in pressure. Faith operates in LOVE. You give because you love the Lord. And when you give with a right attitude, expect miracles, favors, blessings and breakthrough in your financial situation. The Bible declares that God loves a cheerful giver.

“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32 NLT).

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. During Jesus earthly ministry, religious people gave him a hard time. They believed that they were the correct ones and Jesus was in error. Some were sincerely believed that they’re in following of the God of Abraham. Some knew they were wrong and still rejected the Christ. The same is true with us today. There are Christians who are sincerely believe in their teachings and doctrines, but in reality they have limited the grace of God.

“And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work” (Romans 11:6 NKJ).

“And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death” (Romans 8:2 NLT).

“For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:16 NLT).

In Christ Jesus, we are victors and not victims. We have no fear but boldness. We have the freedom because we have the Spirit of the Lord living in us. We have the life-giving Spirit inside us. We have been set free from all works of the devil. We have been given the rest. We can rest in this truth.
