Living in the Supernatural

“… Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he really find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18: 8 NKJ).

The original plan of God for man is for man to have fellowship with his Creator, and to dominate His creations and live according to His word. However, the first man, Adam, willfully rejected God’s plan and followed his own way, and the result was separation from God and abandonment of God’s provisions. The first man received death and lived the life of curse. Nevertheless, in Christ Jesus, man was redeemed from death and delivered him from the curse.

“For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17 NIV).

In Christ Jesus, a believer can now enjoy the original plan of God to man. And that is to have fellowship with His Father God in Heaven, to dominate His creations, and live according to His word. It is reigning in this present life, on this earth, through Jesus Christ. For all those who are experiencing this kind of life, they will agree to call this lifestyle as “living in the supernatural.” Living in the supernatural is living in faith. And living in faith is a lifestyle, for the just shall live by faith and walk by faith and speak by faith. Everything a believer does is by faith.

“Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it” (Hebrews 11:1 New Century Version).

According to dictionary, “Supernatural” means relating to an order of existence beyond the visible observable universe, departing from what is usual or normal especially so as to appear to transcend the laws of nature. The prefix “super” also means over and above, higher in quantity, quality, or degree than, more than, exceeding or so as to exceed a norm, an extreme or excessive degree or intensity, surpassing all or most others of its kind, higher.

In order to experience or able to enjoy and live in the supernatural, you shall live by faith and through faith. Our God is a faith God. He created all of His creations by faith, believing in His creative word that what He says shall come to pass, that His word will not come back to Him void. The same is true with Jesus. Jesus lived in faith and operated in faith during his earthly ministry. Everything Jesus did was according to the word of His Father. There is not a thing that Jesus did for Himself, and Jesus did everything because His Father told him so and Jesus obeyed His Father.

One of the many failures of believers is obedience in the word of God. In reality, faith is simply obeying what the word of God says. You don’t rationalize His word; you don’t make any excuses why you cannot follow His simple word. Living in the supernatural is total trust and obedience to God’s instructions and accepting what He has already given you.

For example, many are living in sickness and diseases because they cannot accept that it is the will of God for them to be healed. They see that their sickness and diseases are impossible to be healed. Therefore, they made up their minds that they are in a special circumstance that God allowed them to stay in that situation and remain there for His glory. But that mindset is totally against the totality of the whole Counsel of God which is the Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. God is good.

One of the many titles of God is, “I Am the Lord that heals you.” In the Gospels, Jesus encountered many who had suffered from all kinds of sickness and disease and yet, they were all healed because they believed and had faith to receive their healings. If you focus on the ministry of Jesus, more than half of his time was spent on healing encounters. It shows that our God is a healing God. When God is present, healing is present also. There was not a single man who approached Jesus for healing purposes that never got healed. Jesus healed them all. Inspect and do a scientific research of these Biblical incidents of healing and it will reveal to you that faith had healed them.

Not too long ago, a preacher asked me why is it that many and countless local churches or local congregation suffers from poverty. He was so depressed and totally tired to see this kind of lifestyle that many believers are poor, where he sees poor ministers, and poor members of local churches. He asked why? You know why? Because one of the culprits is that people magnify their problems. Instead of magnifying the word of God, they focus on their situations. Everybody talks about their difficulties, they talk and talk about how poor they are, how sick they are, how weak they are, they keep on talking and talking and talking how difficult life is.

The Bible said that as a man thinks of himself, so is he. If you keep on thinking that you are sick, weak, poor, lonely, loser, having difficulty in life, then that is who you are. Instead, you must renew your mind according to the word of God, according to the will of God and then do it. A believer is a doer of the word of God. A believer doesn’t just listen to the word but he obeys the word and put the word in action.

The apostle Paul addressed the Corinthians regarding financial blessings. Paul made them to understand and realize that Jesus, although He was rich became poor so that they may become rich. The context of this verse is finances. God has blessed us exceedingly with exceeding abundant blessings in Christ Jesus and that included our finances. God’s principle is not to borrow money but to be a lender. That is God’s principle of handling finances, because if you are a borrower, then you are under the mercy of the lender. God does not want to see His children under the mercy of anyone. God is a jealous God. He is the only One who shall have the power to give mercy, no one else.

It takes faith to live in the supernatural. Faith takes and receives what are supposed to be yours. God has given you exceedingly abundant blessings and the only hindrance for receiving them is your inability to believe and inability to receive and accept the blessings because of your ignorance and pride. Pride is the cause of downfall. The Bible states that man’s downfall is because of his pride.

Living in the supernatural is putting our eyes on the only Source and that is our God. Our God is the Provider. Another title of God is “Jehovah Jireh” the God that provides. When you put your eyes on the ability of men as a source of your financial blessings, then you just put a stop sign on the face of God to stop Him from blessing you. This is why many local churches, even ministers are not prospering in the financial aspects of their lives is because they put their eyes on men. They thought men will always give them the solution to their financial problems. The Bible states that curse is anyone who put their trust in men.

If you have a habit of nosing around, looking around, and hanging around with people who you think will give you the money, you are in a curse. You must renew your mind that the money will come from the Creator of heavens and the earth, who owns all the earth and everything in it. Our God is El Shaddai – the God of more than enough. He is more than enough to give you and provide for your needs. However, God cannot do anything for you if you won’t allow Him to do what God’s will for you. And do not limit God. Do not limit that God’s will for you is to heal you and to prosper you financially.

If you believe and trust your share in the stock market, then you are in a curse. First of all, stock market investment is a form of gambling, no matter how you look at it. You can argue and rationalize until your face becomes blue and gray, still gambling is not an act of faith. I don’t care if you say your heart is clear as a whistle and there’s not a bit of condemnation in your spirit, that’s fine. It is still a form of gambling. And gambling is the opposite of faith. Gambling is hoping that you will win the game, that’s why you are betting. But that is not of faith. Faith is always a guarantee that you are already won the game. You don’t bet and hope for luck.

A winner does not put his money on something that is based on luck. A winner always sows seeds. A faith man plants seeds in the kingdom of God. And that seeds will become mighty trees that will bear exceedingly abundant fruits in season and out of season. A faith man will plant seeds even in famine or out of famine and still reap exceedingly abundantly. If you want to reap a harvest, then begin to plant your seeds. If you want great harvest, then plant great seeds. From the beginning of time, planting and harvesting is God’s principles of financial blessings.

You see, the reason why believers never come to the point of living in the supernatural is because they trusted their own wits. Yes, they think they are so smart and hate anyone who rebukes them. It is pride. They say, “Who are you to tell me this and that?” Hey man, read the Bible. You will find out how Jesus blatantly corrects and blatantly in your face rebukes those who are full of pride in their hearts.

Obedience in the word of God is the key to living in the supernatural. Abraham obeyed God and God was pleased with him and therefore God credited to Abraham the righteousness of God. And Abraham was blessed and became a blessing to all nations. Also, the apostle John gave us a revelation that we can overcome the world through our faith. Praise God for the victory over the world because of our faith. We are able to live in the supernatural.

It takes faith to abandon your wits and be obedient to the word of God. The Bible challenges us that if we are willing and obedient, we will eat the good of the earth.
