The New Creation Identity (Part 1)

“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation” (Gal 6:15 NKJ).

It makes no difference whether you belong to a fivefold ministry or just a simple low profile layman in a local church, whether full-time or part-time in ministry, whether rich or poor, whether famous or unknown, whether educated or uneducated, whether conservative or liberal, whether legalistic or un-legalistic, whether dogmatic or un-dogmatic, whether a theologian or not; all that matter is the realization of the New Creation in Christ.

Majority of believers have no clue or have no idea what is meant by the New Creation in Christ. Believers seldom encounter such teaching regarding this basic foundational truth, that if known or understood, it will usher the believers to the unlimited possibilities of faith. Again, ignorance is the culprit. However, there is no excuse to ignorance. The Holy Spirit has been convicting and guiding the believers into all truths, but the hardness of heart and the believers’ willingness to ignore the voice of the Spirit of truth, lead them to poverty, lack, sickness, sufferings, immorality, rebellion, broken families, crime, sin and so on.

Faith without works is dead. No matter how you present the word of faith, with all gimmicks or yelling and screaming, if this word of faith has no result or has no effect in your life and no impact on other people’s life, then you are just blowing hot air. Faith must have results. Faith must bring in the spiritual truths breaking through the barriers of the physical and material world.

Faith is the answer to everything the believer needed. If you need something, then faith will meet that need. People in bible (Old and New Testament) have changed their lives from a bad life to a good life, because they had known how to use their faith to meet their immediate needs. Faith as discussed in the bible has physical and material results. Faith does not remain in the brain.

People now a day talk about “faith” and many have claimed masters of this topic. But sad to say that the faith they’re talking about has nothing to do or not even close to the reality of the biblical faith. What we have at present time is just pure academic faith or intellectual faith. They thought it is the same biblical faith that they’re talking about; however, it is not, because it has nothing to do with meeting the needs of the believers. Biblical faith is a spiritual truth that creates something out of nothing, to make things happen, to solve problems, to meet people’s needs, to heal the sick, to eliminate diseases, to change lives, and to accomplish the things that are impossible to men.

Practically speaking, faith is for the impossible, end of discussion. If you are living in a life that everything is possible for you, then you have no business talking about faith. You don’t need faith if you can do it your way. Or you don’t need faith if you can pull this one through, or accomplish this one there. In short, if you have something that is NOT impossible, then you don’t need faith. As a matter of fact, mission impossible is accomplished only by faith.

But if you are in the middle of impossibilities, by all means learn the basics of faith and know how to utilize it to your advantage. If you believe that you have terminal sickness or disease and you think that it is impossible to change your condition or situation, then it’s time for you to dwell on faith teachings because faith is for the impossible things and impossible situations. One of the many hindrances of experiencing the mighty workings and manifestations of faith in action is your own. You have too much of your ability to believe outside of the word of God.

The same holds true with having the knowledge and understanding of the “new creation” identity in Christ. If you are a believer or claiming to be one of the followers of Christ, then you are required to know these truths. Once the believer grasps the depths of the realities of the new creation in Christ, the believer becomes a powerhouse in the kingdom of God, he will realize that there is no limit in everything he does, that he is destined to do greater things than Jesus did while the Master was here on earth, that the believer shall be strong and mighty, and that he shall do exploits against all the works of the devil. By having the spiritual knowledge of the new creation identity, the believers will be acting like Joshua and Caleb, full of boldness of faith in the face of all evil reports.

“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:11-12).

The “new creation” is the grace of God wherein He breathes His life to a believer the moment a believer becomes a child of God. The life He breathed into man becomes God’s new creation. This life that was breathed on the believer is the same life as God has it, which the Father has in Himself, and which He gave to the Incarnate Son to have in Himself, and which the Son manifested in the world (by Strong).

The new creation has the life of God in him. Therefore, a believer shall live the life of God here on earth, freedom from sin, poverty and curse. Although believers are still living in the physical and material bodies, it is the life of God that sustains these earthly vessels from all corruptions. Now these corruptions creep into a believer’s life if he allows them through lust.

“…that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escape the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Pet 1:4).

The new creation becomes partakers of the divine nature in Christ. The moment you became a child of God, you became a new creation in Christ. Your physical body did not change the moment you became a new creation, but inside of that body is a new born being. That new born being is the real you, the inner man, your spirit – and it is called the new creation in Christ. The new created spiritual being is called the new creation in Christ.

As a believer, you have a choice to make whether to live victoriously that is according to the life of God, or whether to live under the lies and deceptions of the enemy. Every situation that you are experiencing at this very moment is a result of your choices you had made yesterday or prior to now. If you have a “good” life at this present time it is because you made decisions that are according to the will of God in your life.

This new creation is the real you in Christ. However, the new creation identity has no effect in the believer’s life as long as the believer is ignorant of its identity. A believer who has no revelation knowledge of this identity in Christ will have a superficial Christian life. He will live way below the expectations of God. His insights of biblical truths are murky, and the foundation of his faith is going to be wobbly. Even his theology is blurry and ultimately confused regarding issues in practical living and applied faith.

A believer who is ignorant of his new creation identity will have a miserable life. It is true that he will ever become a burden to the Body of Christ until he learns that he is a new creation. Instead of praying and interceding for others, he becomes the subject of many prayer requests. He will have difficulty in praying for his needs and he requires the help of the brethren to pray to meet his needs. His life is a constant struggle until he recognizes the life of God in him. As a matter of fact, although you are a child of God, if you are not living according to the new creation in Christ then you are still lost.

We need to realize that the believer has been kept away by the devil from understanding of the new creation identity in Christ. The believer’s consciousness of his identity has been marred by the deception of the devil. With all of the devil’s ability, the devil hides this truth from being exposed. Because the moment this truth is known, the devil is done, finished, and will be put to silence.

As a believer, you need to spend more time in discovering yourself as a new creation in Christ. It is the will of the Father to have you receive and experience all spiritual blessings in the spiritual realm. You need to realize that you have the very life of God inside of you. And that life, is the life that gives life to the dead, it is the power of the resurrection, it is life abundantly, the everlasting life. You are able influence your loved ones, friends, and people around you, of the life of God that is full of joy and glory.
