God Expects You to Execute His Authority on Earth

“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Genesis 1:28 NKJ).

One of the awesome wonders of God is the ability to create things out of nothing and place them under His control. Although man has no such ability, he was however, entrusted by God to have dominion over His creation, be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Practically, God entrusted man of His authority and power over the earth.

To be fruitful and multiply, to fill the earth and subdue it is the expectation of God from man (Adam). Adam, however, decided not to follow through God’s plan and failed to make it happen. Instead, Adam voluntarily gave up his authority and power to the devil by believing the devil’s lies and succumbed to his deceptions; therefore, Adam lost his dominion over the earth.

Jesus (the second Adam), however, triumphantly re-claimed the plan of God. Now therefore, the New Covenant believers in Christ are to execute God’s dominion over His creation, to be fruitful and multiply, to fill the earth and subdue it. God expects the Body of Christ, every born again Christian, to execute God’s authority and His power on earth.

Sin is the culprit. Because of sin, the physical earth and its inhabitants have changed from its original state of creation. Man has become spiritually dead and separated from God. He is in the state of perversion, self-centered, and does things what is right in his own eyes. His conscience is seared with wickedness.

On the other hand, as a born again believer, God has given you the responsibility to execute His authority against spiritual powers and kingdom of darkness. Jesus has already finished the work on the cross and resurrection. Now therefore, God requires you to carry out this authority and over power the enemy, and have dominion over him. It takes faith to this however.

Faith in the simplest definition is the obedience to do the will of God. Faith is the key to dominion. Without faith, a believer looses hope, cast doubts, and eventually fears and succumbs into enemy’s lies and deceits. Indeed, when you step up in faith and begin to enforce God’s dominion, you will face resistance from the enemy.

Be advised that there is no such thing as “The Lone Ranger” in executing the authority of God on earth. God’s authority is delegated to the Body of Christ, not to select individuals. Therefore, as a born again believer you need to find your place in the Body of Christ.

Executing the authority of God on earth is all about teamwork. It starts with a local church (body of believers in a certain demographic) and submission to the leadership, nurture and guidance of a local pastor. Pray earnestly that the Holy Spirit will guide you to a local demographic of believers in your place, and get involved in executing the authority of God. The key point here is placing oneself in a right place and in a right time within the Body of Christ in executing His authority.

In the early beginnings of the Church, believers gather together in one accord, in one spirit, having one faith in prayers, giving praise and worship unto the Lord. The Lord blessed them and added believers in their fellowship. The Church grew in a very short period of time, but then experienced brutal persecutions from the hands of the children of the devil. In spite of tribulations from the enemy’s assaults, the Church continuous to grow, prosper, mature and bear fruits.

Here are some pointers to successfully execute the authority of God and have dominion over the devil:

• Step up to the faith.

You cannot please God without faith. You need to have God’s back up when facing the enemy. God can only back you up if you show faith. Faith is not passive but active. Faith moves forward and never retreats. It is confident and assured step in reaching the goals, never accepts defeats and failures. Faith overcomes the world.

• Take what belongs to you.

If the people of God were blessed so much during the Old Covenant times, how much more are we who have receive a better covenant through the blood of Jesus Christ? God had exceedingly blessed Abraham and his descendants Israel with both spiritual and material blessings. The people of Israel gained respect and they were feared by neighboring kingdoms because of their God.

Now in the New Testament, we have a better covenant because of the shed blood of Jesus. You have been blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. You are redeemed from the curse of the law. You have the blessing of Abraham. You belong to Christ, in His kingdom. You’ve been healed. You are like a tree planted by the river and yields its fruits in season. You are blessed coming in and going out.

• Grieve not the Holy Spirit.

Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in all that you do. You can minimize the mistakes in life if you let the Spirit to lead your life. The Holy Spirit is here to teach us. The Holy Spirit is here to give us the power and the ability to do the things of God. By the power of the Holy Spirit we can do mighty things in this world. Jesus said that we can do more because of the Holy Spirit.

The success of the things we do depends on how we allow the Holy Spirit to work in our life. Everything we do must have the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It is not by might nor by power but by the Spirit of the Lord. The anointing of the Holy Spirit will break the bondage placed by the enemy.

You can grieve the Holy Spirit by disobeying His voice. He convicts you of your sin. When you make mistakes or commit sin, the Holy Spirit tells you of your shortcomings and urges you to clean up your act by repentance. Because of sin, death will result, and it separates you from the Father.

• Resist the devil.

You have the power over the enemy, and the devil has no choice but to leave you alone because of the blood of Jesus. Resist the devil by using the Word of God. Overcome the words of the enemy by the Word of God. If the devil knows that you know your rights and privileges as a child of God, then he will flee away from you.
