The Favor of God

“For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield” (Psalm 5:12 NKJ).

One of many blunders of a believer is ignorance of who they are in Christ. As a result of being in Christ, we have been declared righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21). It is not our self-righteousness but the righteousness of God which is in Christ through faith that we became righteous in His sight. Therefore, if we live according to the righteousness of God, we are able to claim all the blessings and the benefits of a righteous.

One of many blessings of a righteous man is favor from God. The favor of God is your advantage in winning every battle in life. The favor of God can give you the things in life that even wealth and riches can’t afford to buy. The favor of God can give you precious things that will not cost you anything. The favor of God guarantees success and prosperity in everything you do.

• Because of the favor of God, you can be promoted to leadership with power and authority.

“But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing” (Genesis 39:21-22 NKJ).

You see, even in a dark dungeon of a prison cell, God’s favor is with you. He will never allow His child to be in the bottom pit and suffer there for nothing. He will see to it that His child is always on top of the world, even in the darkest hours of his life. He will make sure that he will be the head and not the tail.

The Bible declares that promotion does not come from anywhere, but from the Lord. And that is due to God’s favor in your life. A good example is that, even though you are not qualified for a coveted position or promotion that you’re applying for in the work force, God’s favor will qualify you indeed to have that promotion. No one will be able to get it but you. Our God is able to make things beautiful for your sake.

• Because of the favor of God, the devil will release the blessings that he had stolen from you.

“And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be, when you go, that you shall not go empty-handed. But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, namely, of her who dwells near her house, articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them in your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians” (Exodus3:21-22 NKJ).

Egypt is a shadow of the kingdom of the devil. The Israelites were enslaved there and everything they had was stolen by the devil. On the day of freedom, they were given favor in the sight of their enemies, and they plundered them. The same holds true with the believers. Because of God’s favor, every blessing that the devil had stolen from you will be returned seven times worth. You may be impoverished at this moment while reading this blog, you may have been cheated, used and abused, and had taken advantaged by the devil, but rise up now and receive the favor of God in your life.

Your enemy, the devil, shall return everything he had stolen from you. You shall plunder your enemy and demand that your possessions which were given to you by God since you became His child, be returned to you seven times more.

• Because of the favor of God, you will receive recognition from the upper echelon.

“So David came to Saul and stood before him. And he loved him greatly, and he became his armor-bearer. Then Saul sent to Jesse, saying, “Please let David stand before me, for he has found favor in my sight” (1 Samuel 16:21-22 NKJ).

You could be the lowest mammal in a platoon of the lowest rank; however, you could ultimately be promoted to the level of the upper echelons of an organization. Everything is possible because of the favor of God in you. David found favor in the sight of King Saul, and he became the king’s armor bearer and always in the king’s presence. Out of nowhere, came David from a shepherd boy turned into a king’s man. It’s all because of the favor of God.

• Because of the Favor of God, laws, decrees, ordinance, policies, procedures can change to your advantage.

“… when the king saw Queen Esther … she found favor in his sight… and the king said to her, “What do you wish? …What is your request? It shall be given you – up to half of my kingdom!” (Esther 5:2-3 NKJ).

“… So Esther … stood before the king and said,“… if I have found favor in his sight … let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman, … which he wrote to annihilate the Jews who are in all the king’s provinces” (Esther 8:4-7 NKJ).

Then King Ahasuerus said … “You yourselves write decree concerning the Jews, as you please, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s signet ring … no one can revoke” (Esther 8:8 NKJ).

There’s nothing hard for the Lord. Even the laws or ordinances of governments are against you, God can turn them around to your advantage. I know someone who was kicked out from health insurance coverage because of his age and the effects of the economy. However, after a year he regained his rights and privileges because a law was changed, changed to his advantage.

You see, you could be in trouble with the law, ordinances, policies and procedures, however, God’s favor can able to change them all for your benefits.

• Because of the favor of God, you will win whatever battle you have in this life.

“For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favoured them” (Psalm 44:3 NKJ).

You will win every battle in life because of God’s favor. From little things through the biggest things in this life, you are destined to win them all. God will do it for you. You can’t do it on your own. It is not your ability, your intelligence, your experience, your multi-network friends, your wealth, your connections or whatever. Because of God’s favor, you will gain possession.
