The believer is blessed with all blessings from God, and nothing can match how blessed is he. Being a follower of Jesus is beautiful. However, for the most part the world perceives a believer to be another religious individual.
The apostle Paul wrote the verse above with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is a powerful revelation for you to understand . Paul prayed that you would come to the realization of what you possess in Christ, that you are blessed with all blessings of the kingdom of God has to offer. And you can start enjoying these blessings while on earth and continue to do so all throughout eternity.
Jesus told His followers that they are the salt and light of the earth. Ask a few ordinary citizens on the street if Jesus’ followers reflect being the light and salt of the earth. You’ll be surprised. Most have negative connotation especially the church life. They perceive that it is very conservative, legalistic, no fun, judgmental, only want money, and with all sorts of negative ideas and suspicions.
It’s okay to blame the devil. But there is no excuse for the Body of Christ for not doing what it is supposed to. The brightness of your light begins at home. Winning the world for Jesus starts from one family to another, and it spreads out to the neighborhood and then to the world.
Is your life attractive? Will an unbelieving person next to you dare to ask why you’re so happy, calm, and enjoying life?
The apostle Paul wants you to have a clear understanding that you are blessed with all spiritual blessing in Christ. These blessings are not locked up somewhere in heaven. They are in your heart.
These spiritual blessings are bundled in one package and has been delivered to you after Jesus rose from the dead. As you know, Jesus is sitting on the right hand of the Father and interceeding for your sake. He is waiting for you to open that package and begin to enjoy God’s goodness.
What are these spiritual blessings? Start with the fruit of the spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, against such there is no law.”
You have love in your spirit. Can you imagine how many thousands of songs have ever written about love? The secret of having your faith works is love. Read 1 Corinthians chapter 13 and see how love works.
You have joy in your spirit. Joy is contagious. People like to hang out with people who enjoy life, happy, and upbeat. The church should be a place for celebration, for the blessed and for the victorious in Christ. David said in Psalm 122:1, “I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.”
You have peace in your heart. The peace of God that passeth all understanding.
Another blessings that you have is the wisdom of God.
“But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God – and the righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:30 NKJV)
The wisdom of God made King Solomon great. He ruled the nation of Israel in peace, full of glory, and in riches. However, in the new covenant you have Christ the wisdom of God. And He is greater than Solomon. Therefore you are more blessed than Solomon. Wisdom will open doors for success, for favor, and for riches.
God has declared that His people shall be blessed and be a blessing. In Deuteronomy 28, God has promised you all the blessings beyond your imagination.
It is sad that the Christian world has allowed the devil to put pressure on the Body of Christ regarding finances. God’s financial plan is to have the Body of Christ free from debt. God wants you to owe no man anything, to be in a position to lend and not borrow.
It is good to be blessed and be a blessing to others. Freedom from financial burden is included in the redempive work of Christ. You have been set free from sin and the effects of sin. Financial difficulty is part of the effects of sin.
The Lord Jesus Christ is your Great Shepherd. He leads you to green pastures at all times. And you shall not want because you are fully provided with all the goodness and the pleasures of His inexhaustible riches.
2 Corinthians 8:9, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.”
Jesus gave you His richest so you don’t have to beg and become victim of financial debt.
Another blessing of the Lord is that you were healed from sickness and diseases.
Matthew 8:16-17, “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sickness.”
1 Peter 2:24, “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed.”
Christ has taken your sickness and nailed them to the cross, and with His stripes you were healed. It did not say you are going to be healed, but you were healed. You have your healing in Christ. If the word says you were healed then you are healed indeed.
Another blessing of the Lord is deliverance from the power of the devil.
Colossians 1:13, “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood the forgiveness of sins.”
The devil will attempt to lure you to bow before him through the perverted beauty of the world. The devil has been using has been using the perverted music and entertainment. The devil is a copy cat and perverts everything God has planned.
However, the devil has nothing to do with you. The devil cannot touch you. The Bible says that you shall resist the devil and it shall flee away from you. You are a child of the light and darkness shall not prevail from your bright shining light.
God has delivered you from the power of darkness and moved you into the kingdom of His Son. The devil has no power and authority over you. The devil belongs under your feet.
The gospel of Christ is beautiful. But the devil has been trying to distort the message of the gospel. You have the responsibility to share the beauty of the gospel to the lost world. Your lifestyle reflects this beauty. You can only be an effective witness for Christ if you continue to enjoy the beauty of a blessed life.
