The spirit of anti-Christ

In a normal lifestyle and in an ordinary daily routine activity, it is difficult to judge or sense if someone had deliberately lied to you during a casual or even a formal conversation. You communicate on a regular basis while at work, on the phone, on the internet, in the store, in the church, with your friends, with your client, with your lawyer, with your doctor, with your teacher and classmates, with your neighbor, with your spouse, children, relatives, and etc. Most of the time, you take their words and believe what people had to say; especially those who appear very innocent and decent individuals.

Your feedback to such conversation might be nothing unusual or nothing out of the ordinary, because everything the person had said kind a makes sense or it might had been just another personal opinion. Or you might take an extreme respond by labeling them as another liars or a bunch of hot air.

In reality, to trace a lie and to put a stop on it is one of the biggest challenges of human ability. Someone said that everybody lies – we know that. Evidently, even the most educated and dignified people on planet earth lies. Lies are all over the world, in politics, in business, in government, in religion, in military, in law enforcement, in judiciary system, in schools, in entertainment, in sports, in journalism, in history, even in a small prayer group of a little tiny church.

Lie is the spirit of the anti-Christ. The anti Christ is the personified lie, the deceiver of the brethren and of the human race. The spirit of anti-Christ masquerades as angel of light. The spirit of anti-Christ will not come to you in dark clouds with a nasty looking feature and nasty voice with a nasty smelling manifestation or whatever. The spirit of anti-Christ will come to you in a very subtle way that you would never imagine or think or sense it got you trapped. The spirit of anti-Christ will show you that everything must make sense, even to the distortion of the truth. The spirit of anti-Christ would use even the pulpit of a church at all cost to plant seeds of lies, unbelief and doubt in people’s heart.

The Apostle John gave the believers a warning of the anti-Christ’s existence in 1 John 4:3, “And every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the anti-Christ, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.”

The Apostle John warns the believers that the spirit of anti-Christ does not confess (speak of, declare, acknowledge) that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. In short, the spirit of anti-Christ denies and opposes everything Jesus claims as the Christ, the Anointed One. The spirit of anti- Christ denies the existence and the works and the manifestations of the Anointed One. Many so called Christians of today thought they are followers of Christ, but in reality they are the enemies of Christ. They have been deceived and operate under the spirit of anti-Christ.

At the beginning of his ministry, John the Baptist was very much aware of the existence of the spirit of the anti Christ, which is the personified lie. John was not in doubt when he questioned the authenticity or the reality of Jesus’ claim as the Christ – the Anointed One. Because John was sent by God to prepare the way for the Christ, it only seems right that John had required Jesus to confess in His mouth that He is the Christ; that the Christ has come to the world in flesh to bring salvation. While John was in prison, he heard the many works of Christ. People were giving testimonies and news about Christ spread all over the country. John sent two of his disciples to verify the reality of Christ; otherwise, they have to look for the real one.

Matthew 11:2-6, “And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples and said to Him, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: the blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

In response, Jesus sent them back to John and assured him that He was indeed the Christ. Jesus told them: the blind received their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Christ means the Anointed One. In Luke 4:18-19, Jesus boldly declares that He is the Christ, the Anointed One. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me. Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim the liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Jesus told the disciples of John the Baptist that Christ heals, delivers, and preaches good news to the poor. To sum up the work of Christ, according to Jesus had said based on the scriptures above: there is healing, there is deliverance, there is preaching of liberty, there is preaching of the gospel to the poor. Evidently, it is salvation both in the spiritual and physical realm.

How does the spirit of anti-Christ work? It’s a no brainer. You don’t need a degree in theology to come out with the answer. The word “anti” means against or opposed to. If you are opposed and against the teachings and the manifestations of divine healing, deliverance from oppression of the devil, raising up the dead, and deliverance from being poor, then you are operating under the spirit of anti-Christ.

Jesus also warned them that it is blessed not to get offended in Christ. Jesus knew that people get easily offended in His teachings. Even today, the most notorious people who easily get offended at the teaching of healing are those who did not receive their healing. Those who remain in poverty and lack are offended in the teachings of being set free from being poor – the prosperity message. The devil blinded their eyes that the teaching of prosperity is being materialistic, but deep in their heart they desire a life of financially security, free from debt.

The truth is Christ the Anointed One has never stopped healing people. As long as there are people who needed deliverance and healing, the Anointed One continues to perform His being the Christ. The Bible declares that Christ has already healed them once and for all, and people only need to receive and accept their healing and deliverance. The same is true with financial issues. Christ became poor so that believers would become rich. That is just plain and simple; no need for a systematic theological explanation on that. There is not a single scripture that God wants you to be poor.

Another manifestation of the spirit of anti Christ is selling the gospel of Christ. One of the most stumbling blocks the believers have done is to sell (exchange for money) the gospel of Christ to the world. You would argue in all eternity that you need money to spread the gospel of Christ, but you are wrong. If that so, then use your FAITH for God’s provision. You have no right to teach faith and then ask MAN for money to do the work of God. You are misrepresenting God because God is not a beggar, so don’t beg for Him. God’s business is not to receive, but to give. “For God so love the world that He gave…”

God did not call you to beg for money in order to spread the gospel of Christ. You will never find in the Bible that you needed the money to spread the gospel. As a matter of fact, Jesus did the opposite. When Jesus sent (on the job training) His twelve disciples to spread the gospel, He told them not to bring anything, because God will provide for their needs along the way.

In Matthew 10:8-10, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, nor bag for your journey, nor tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.”

In Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” Jesus never changes.

The Christ in the New Testament is the same Christ in this generation. The Anointed One remains faithful forever and ever. He will continue to perform the works of Christ. The devil invented all kinds of theological and dispensational arguments to put clouds of doubt and destroy the faith of God’s children. But we have overcome them, the world, with our FAITH.

Again, in 1 John 2:22, “Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is the anti-Christ who denies the Father and the Son.” Do not listen to the lies of the devil. The devil denies the Christ, the works of Christ.

Jesus told them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: the blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”
