“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5
God is not only concern of big things in life but the small things too. In reality He is the God of details. Consider His creation and those micro organisms’ well structured make up – work of a Genius. Absolutely, He is interested in your daily affairs, routine chores, and even those “personal” pursuits along with the “none of their business” attitude. As a matter of fact, all of your hectic and demanding activities require some wisdom so you could stay on top of everything. Wisdom is also: a wise attitude or course of action. Wisdom is the ability to think smart and work smart.
God only took six days to complete His creations and on the seventh day He rested. What God did is a classic example of thinking smart and working smart. Don’t you know that real wisdom comes from God? It gives you practical ways and easy solutions to overcome the hustle and bustle of the day. At the same time wisdom gives you a breather, a rest, so you can stay focus and ready for the next ruckus in life. The apostle James encourages you to ask God for His wisdom. God will generously give it to you without reproach. Wisdom gives you the knowledge and the capacity for good judgment. The Book of Proverbs is the practical wisdom of God. The book has been waiting to be put on test – into action.
Know that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs 9:10 states, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” To fear means, to give reverence, to show worthy of great honor, and to worship with awe. The fear of the Lord ushers God’s righteousness to rule in your heart. Psalm 37:30 states, “The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of justice.” Therefore, God’s righteousness and justice is your wisdom. You judge yourself of the righteousness and justice of God. It follows then that, whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus (Colossians 3:17).
Know that Jesus is the Wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24, 30). Everything Jesus did while he was here on earth is the manifestation of the Father’s wisdom. He came and redeemed you from sin and the effects of sin, and now the power of darkness shall not prevail against you because you are a son of light. He came to give you life – the very life of God, and you are made complete in Him, in Him you move and have your being. He came to destroy the works of the evil one, therefore the devil has nothing to do with you, and the devil is under your feet. He came to restore fellowship with God, so that you can come boldly into the throne of grace and receive help in time of need. He came to give you His word, His promises, and His authority. He gave you His faith and made you righteous through His blood.
Proverbs 4:7-9, says that the wisdom of God will exalt you and promote you. God’s wisdom will bring you honor and grace, and will deliver you from all destructions and failures.
