“No guts, no glory.”

Common sense seems to dictate that siding on what is right, in opposition to who is right, is good judgment.  You would think that majority would stand on what is right, but that is not always the case.  In fact, people emphatize especially with a friend who is at fault.  Instead of having a reasonable choice to make, they let sentiment dominate them.  We can call it heart over minds.

However, it takes a lot of guts to defend your conviction in the company of oppositions.  But take pride, there’s nothing more glorious when you are the last man standing.   It takes guts, or we might as well say that it takes wisdom to outsmart them all.

Unquestionably, the Book of Proverbs will give you the mind of the wise.  Assuredly, you can be the coolest street smart out there, if you just listen to His word.    But notice, the first lesson of the day is self control.   Can you handle the truth?  What about a deceptive woman, can you handle her?

Please continue to read and let the wisdom of God sink down in your heart:

“Wisdom will save you from the immoral woman, from seductive words of the promiscuous woman.  She has abandoned her husband and ignores the covenant she made before God.  Entering her house leads to death; it is the road to the grave.  The man who visits her is doomed.  He will never reach the paths of life.” (Proverbs 2:16-19 NLT)

“Don’t lust for her beauty.  Don’t let her coy glances seduce you.  For a prostitute will bring you to poverty, but sleeping with another man’s wife will cost you your life.  Can a man scoop a flame into his lap and not have his clothes catch on fire? Can he walk on hot coals and not blister his feet?  So it is with the man who sleeps with another man’s wife.  He who embraces her will not go unpunished. “(Proverbs 6:25-29 NLT)

“I discovered that a seductive woman is a trap more bitter than death.  Her passion is a snare, her soft hands are chains.  Those who are pleasing to God will escape her, but sinners will be caught in her snare.” (Ecclesiastes 7:26 NLT)

“But the man who commits adultery is an utter fool, for he destroys himself.  He will be wounded and disgraced.  His shame will never be erased.  For the woman’s jealous husband will be furious, and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge.  He will accept no compensation, nor be satisfied with a payoff of any size.” (Proverbs 6:32-35 NLT)

“Live happily with the woman you love through all the meaningless days of life that God has given you under the sun.  The wife God gives you is your reward for all your earthly toil.” (Ecclesiastes 9:9 NLT)

“For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church.  He gave up his life for her.” (Ephesians 5:25 NLT)

Right on, meditate on these words day and night, and do not let them depart from your lips.  And you will find your self enjoying the wife of your youth.
